The parietal lobe is responsible for language and constriction ability. Neurons in this area of the brain receives sensory information from the skin and tongue, and process sensory information from the eyes and ears. This information is then compiled and sent to the other lobes of the brain. The parietal lobe also deals wit spatial orientation, calculation, and types of recognition.
Primary Somatosensory Cortex: The primary somatosensory cortex is the main sensory receptive area for the sense of touch. This primary sensor is located in the postcentral gyrus in the parietal lobe. This area process all the touch signals received from all the various part of the body.
Thalamus: The thalamus is a major part of the limbic system that assists the parietal lobe with sensory information. The thalamus is involved with sensory perception and movement with other parts of the brain. It receives auditory, somatosensory, and visual signals.
